Stew...now with Cornstarch!
After the movie last night, I felt like having stew. So I picked up a bunch of veggies and beef, tossed it into the crockpot with water and spices, and let it cook overnight. I think this is the second time I've used the slow-cooker since I inherited it two years ago.

I checked on it when I woke up...it was the thinnest stew I ever saw, just meat and veggies in a thin broth. I was all mad, and ate my cereal in a bad mood. Then I googled 'how to thicken your stew', and found out that you should put cornstarch in it.

For some reason, I actually had cornstarch in my cupboards. I tossed it in, and it totally thickened it up. All hail cornstarch! Hurrah!

Are you volunteering to be my official cooking consultant?

Alright! I'm thinking of trying to cook some cabbage rolls for the first time this weekend, because I'm bored of my current food rotation, and I have 3/4 of a head of cabbage in the fridge from earlier this week. Any pointers I should know?
