Camping, Again
So I left on August 5th for another camping trip, this time with Fane. We were to venture to Otter Lake, B.C., with a stop in Japser for a few days.
It went OK. Most of the time we were either playing board games or drinking, or both. We had a campfire every night. We played a lot of football in the lake. Yes, in the lake.
Notable events were:
- seeing a bear jump out of the lake about 30 meters from us
- driving by a bull just standing on the road
- seeing a dog in a box on the back of a motorcycle, on the highway
- the awesome Coalmont town sign
- Melting pop cans in the campfire
We're going next year for sure. But we're going to try and (a) get more people to come, or (b) make the trip shorter. Or both. Things got kind of repetitive, so we cut the trip short one day. We also made the 13-hour drive home all in one day, stopping at random restaurants for meals. Fane left his jacket at some German restaurant named "Hole in the Wall", I think.
Speaking of which, I still have Fane's pillow in my trunk. And his hot dog fork, playing card case, flying disc, and sandals. They will be on eBay later in the week. Stay tuned.
