Cell Phones on the Rise
Cell-phone households are on the rise, with roughly 25% of the Internet-using, 18-24 year old US demographic being cell-phone-only.
I made the switch in early 2005...no reason to pay for two phones when I only need one. Internet? I use Shaw Cable and subscribe only to their Internet service, instead of Telus DSL, who makes you also pay for landline service. Need to make a long-distance call? I just use Skype's free VoIP service instead of being gouged by high long-distance prices.
Speaking of which, I wonder how many homes are VoIP only these days...
