Winter Driving, Again
Winter can be fun sometimes. Think of outdoor shinny on the pond, snowball fights, and tobogganing down snowy hills. It can also suck.
Case in point: my car won't start. It was getting hard to start, so I was going to pick up a new battery...this evening, before the temperatures dropped below -20. My battery didn't hold out that long, I guess. Maybe it'll start later this morning. I'm not driving today, though...I don't want to be stuck in a downtown parking lot in this weather.
Speaking of which, driving last night also really sucked. Until I got onto the Yellowhead, the roads coming out of downtown were essentially pure ice, with a touch of snow here and there. They were dangerous to walk on, let alone drive on. With the congested traffic, it took me about 30 mins to drive down 109th st, from 104 to 118 Ave. It wasn't congested from an accident; people were just driving really, really slow.
I suppose that's a good thing. Better to creep along than have morons in trucks who think they're invincible speeding past you, then sliding out of control (as per last winter). Right, Chris?
