Consignment
Back in the fall, when I bought my RBK 5K pads, I dropped my old Vaughn Legacy pads off at Play it Again Sports for a consignment sale. They were in good shape, though they were the older, traditional style of pad. And had a small skate cut in them (which I semi-fixed with crazy glue).
I never received a cheque in the mail, so I assumed they didn't sell. I went back there a few days ago, exactly three months after dropping the pads off there. Turns out they were sold five days after I dropped them off, and they just never sent the cheque out.
Five days. And I set the price on the high side of what the salesman recommended...higher than what I bought them for, though they take a 30% commission.
I can say now, I'm now impressed with consignment.
