Weekend Summary
So, this weekend, an old high school friend of mine (Tyler) got in touch with me. I haven't seen him for about six months. As such, we had to spend some time catching up.

To Fane's dismay, I cancelled the usual post-racquetball pool game in lieu of playing pool downtown with Tyler (and Graham, another friend...and Graham's brother, Shawn). We had fun. Bavaria girls gave out free beer. I only drank half of mine. Graham and Shawn didn't even touch theirs. It's not the best beer. We played until 2:00am.

The next morning, I got up and played golf with Fane and Chris. I didn't keep score, to Fane's dismay. Well, I kept track of the number of strokes on the current hole, but didn't write them down or anything.

After a late night of pool and an early morning of golf, I had a nap. Then got up two hours later and hit the driving range with Tyler, Graham, and Shawn.

Graham and Shawn left afterwards, so Tyler and I tracked down another high school friend, Shane, and tracked him down. Shane brought his gf, and we all loitered around at West Ed.

They all planned to go see X-Men 3 that night. I declined in lieu of playing hockey that night. We had three hours until the movie started, so I drove over with Tyler to Millwoods Rec Centre, dropped off my hockey gear, and played basketball for 90 minutes.

Then I played goal for another 90 minutes. It was a tiring day.

Sunday I went shopping for some goalie pants. Before, I wore regular hockey pants...but I took a slapshot to the inner thigh Saturday night, where there's no padding. That stung. I also considered trading in my chest protector for a larger one, but I could barely move with an XL one on. I'll sacrifice protection for, uh, being able to move.

I tried the pants on Sunday night, playing goal again. It wasn't too bad. I did take a slapshot right between a gap in the arm guard, though, which left a huge blue-and-purple bruise on my bicep. That's totally unrelated to the pants, but I'd just thought I'd mention it. I think it's my worst bruise yet.

All in all this weekend, beginning Friday night...180 minutes of hockey, 225 minutes of golf, 60 minutes of racquetball, 90 minutes of basketball. I'm a bit sore today.
